GE Makes Energy Efficiency ‘Current’

It seems as though an “All-of-the-Above” energy strategy is no longer simply for policymakers. General Electric on Wednesday announced a new business, called Current, which will strive to improve energy efficiency for companies around the globe.

Connecting GE’s LED, Solar, Energy Storage, and Electric Vehicle businesses with its powerful Predix platform, which identifies and delivers cost effective and efficient energy solutions, the new company seeks to revolutionize energy efficiency for businesses. Utilizing new technologies in energy storage and renewable energy production, the company claims it will help save customers an estimated 10 percent to 20 percent on their energy bills and help utilities better manage the load on the energy network.
