Quebec: Gas found in Silurian in Lake Casault corehole

A strategic test in the Quebec Gaspe Peninsula has confirmed the presence of gas in a Silurian sandstone. The core hole was drilled in the unorganized territory of Lake Casault and samples drawn from it will be analyzed to determine the permeability and porosity of the sandstone. This discovery backed up results pulled from a former well drilled nearby.
