“Administrator Quarterman has successfully led a maturing agency through a time of unprecedented growth in energy transportation. She has managed high profile events relating to pipelines, rail hazmat, and the transport by air of lithium batteries,” said Brigham A. McCown, the former administrator of PHMSA and member of the United States Senior Executive Service during both terms of George W. Bush’s presidency.
“She is the longest serving PHMSA Administrator and her leadership will be missed. I am also confident the men and women of the USDOT and PHMSA will continue to safely oversee the country’s pipeline and hazardous materials network,” said McCown.
