Calumet San Antonio Refinery LLC has recently signed TexStar Midstream Logistics LP to build, own, and operate a 30,000 b/d crude oil pipeline system. This is expected to supply at least 10,000 b/d of Eagle Ford’s shale crude oil to the San Antonio refinery.
The 15 year agreement has TexStar installing and operating the Karnes North Pipeline System (KNPS), which is an 8 inch OD, 50 mile pipeline that will move crude oil from Karnes City, Texas to Elmendorf, Texas. This pipeline is expected by Calumet to begin service in the fourth quarter of 2014.
Calumet anticipates a completed crude unit expansion at the San Antonio refinery by the early first quarter of 2014.
