TransCanada approved to dig on Texas farm

A Texas judge is giving TransCanada permission to begin construction of the controversial Keystone XL pipeline right through the middle of a North Texas family’s farm. Judge Bill Harris of Lamar County awarded the Canadian company a “writ of possession.” essentially giving the pipeline’s owner the right to begin breaking ground as early as today.

Debra Medina, a former Republican primary gubernatorial candidate says the process is “backwards” because a decision detailing if the pipeline has the right to seize easements under eminent domain law has not been reached.
